Why CTIA is worth certifying in specifically

Threat intelligence has a credibility problem, and it's the reason this certification matters.

Most of what gets called threat intelligence is a feed nobody reads producing reports nobody acts on. The difference between that and the real thing is method — starting from a requirement, running a lifecycle, and producing something that changes a decision.

CTIA is a method-driven program covering the full lifecycle: planning and direction, collection and processing, analysis, reporting and dissemination. That's what the certification signals to an employer: not that you subscribe to feeds, but that you can run an intelligence function.

It also sits in genuinely uncontested ground. There are dozens of certifications for attacking and defending. There are very few that treat intelligence as a discipline with a method — which means fewer people competing with you for those roles.

CTIA is 50 questions in 2 hours. Shorter than most, and people underestimate it for exactly that reason.
